Mobile Application Penetration Testing

Mobile Application Penetration Testing · Fixes verified

Your app is in every pocket. So is the risk.

We attack your mobile application the way a real adversary would, across its code, architecture and design, then stay with your developers through remediation and retest the app to verify each fix.

Why it matters

Users trust the app. Attackers study it.

Customer data lives in the app

Mobile apps carry sessions, personal details and account access. One weakness there can hand an attacker your users' private data directly.

Beyond the interface

We look past the screens to the code, architecture and design choices an attacker could abuse to gain unauthorised access to sensitive data.

Fixes that are verified

Remediation support and a verification retest confirm your developers closed each weakness, rather than simply marking it resolved.

How we test

Seven phases. From scoping to proof of fix.

The engagement does not stop at the report. The final two phases keep us working with your developers until each fix is verified.

Scope definition

We agree the app and components in scope, the testing methods to use and the objectives the test must answer for you.

Information gathering

We study the app's architecture, design and underlying infrastructure to choose the attack paths most worth pursuing.

Vulnerability assessment

The app is checked for known weakness classes, such as injection flaws, cross-site scripting and sensitive data exposure.

Penetration testing

Manual and tool-assisted attacks simulate a real adversary, confirming which weaknesses can actually be exploited.

Reporting

Each vulnerability is documented with its impact, supporting evidence and the remediation measures we recommend.

Remediation support

We work alongside your development team, explaining how to address each finding and apply the recommended measures.

Verification

We retest the application to confirm the fixes are effective and the weaknesses we found have been closed.

What you receive

What we test, what you receive and how we follow through.

Expected outcomes: verified fixes for the weaknesses found, reduced risk to your users' data, and documented evidence of testing for auditors.

FAQ

Mobile testing, what product teams ask.

What product owners and security teams ask before we test a mobile application.

Which parts of the app do you test?

Scope is agreed in the first phase. It usually covers the application, its components and the infrastructure behind it, with objectives set around the data and functions that matter most to you.

Do you need our source code?

It depends on the objectives agreed at scoping. A test can work from the app as an attacker would see it, and if you want the code itself examined in depth, our Software Source Code Review can run alongside.

Will testing affect our live users?

We agree environments, accounts and timing during scope definition, so testing stays controlled. Where production testing is needed, the riskiest techniques are planned with your team first.

What happens after you hand over the report?

We work with your developers on remediation, explaining how to fix each finding, then retest the application to verify the weaknesses are closed before the engagement ends.

Can the results support a regulatory audit?

Yes. The executive summary, risk ratings and evidence give auditors and regulators a documented record of how the app was tested and how each weakness was resolved.

Scope your mobile app test

Tell us about your app. We'll plan the attack.

Share what the app does, who uses it and when it ships, and a mobile tester will return a scoped plan and proposal.
